Until recently, Valentine's day was not my thing. I never prepared anything, didn't create any collection dedicated to this occasion. Last year, I had - for other reasons - my physical shop open on February the 14th, and that day became the reason I changed my mind about this day.
I heard so many Love stories, met so many wonderful people!
Two faces stood out and found a special place in my soul.... First was an 8-year old boy who chose one of my creations to offer as his first Valentine's Day gift! I made this package with so much care and love and I hope I helped this little boy get his first kiss.... Several hours later, a sweet gentleman visited my shop and bought a pair of heart earrings to give his wife after 55 years of marriage!!!!
How much tenderness, how much caring, how much truth do these stories carry??
I closed late that night feeling full and optimistic. I know that his holiday is all about spending. In the ugly everyday life we live in, let's have a day to celebrate Love. We need to remind ourselves (and those around us) that we are loved. With every shape of love, with every form of expression. There is no need to buy presents. A handmade card, a flower cut from the pot, a walk holding hands are enough. They are enough to give yourself a breath and celebrate what you feel and those you have by your side. The way back was full of people with balloons, flowers, sweets, smiles....
It was a magical night!
